New ENS Foundation Director Decided!

The window to vote for the new ENS Foundation director is almost closed and it appears that Alex Van de Sande, aka avsa.eth, will take the title.

The snapshot voting window is from May 1st – May 6th, 2023, and Alex has received 1.7 million votes, or 88% of the total votes to date. Exiting director, Brantly Millegan, and current director, Nick Johnson, have both thrown their support behind Alex. The next-closest candidate, Sean Murray, has received just 2,800 votes, or less than 1% of the total votes.

After the vote is finalized, the winner will be required to complete KYC information to Walkers Corporate Limited, the entity that provides the registered office and secretary to the ENS Foundation in the Cayman Islands.

Alex has stated publicly that he has been involved in the web3 and ENS space for the last 10 years. He does not work for ENS Labs, and believes that there is value in being independent from the other ENS entities. He has immense experience in the industry and is a champion of ENS as a primary means of login.

We’re excited to see what Alex will bring to the table once he settles in to his new role.
