Will Google allow wallet searches via ENS soon?

Nalin Mittal is a Product Manager of Web3 for Google. He shared yesterday that the ability to search Ethereum wallets is now officially live on Google. This feature has worked to some degree over the last few months, but now is fully completed and working perfectly.

What’s especially important here in relation to ENS, is his response to the first question he was asked in this tweet.

“Can we search via ENS?”

“No. Not yet.”

While “not yet” is not an official confirmation that it is coming soon, it does appear that it is something they are working on integrating. Which makes perfect sense. ENS’ primary use case is replacing a wallet’s random string of characters into something readable. And Google’s focus is making search simple for the everyday user.

I suspect that this will become a reality in the near future. And it will just be another step in the mainstreaming of ENS names as a necessity for those with Ethereum wallets.
